Honoured For More Than His Work
17 January 2011-Monday
-Supriya Pradhan

Nothing feels better than one’s work being realized, appreciated and honoured. Well, that’s exactly what Yash Kumar is experiencing right now. The singer-actor has recently been honored by the Lawyer’s National Campaign against Untouchability (LANCAU).

Kumar, real name Suresh Kumar Pariyar, received felicitations from the organization on 13th January for his contribution in ending caste-based discrimination prevalent in the country though music and movies. Present at the event to hand over a letter of appreciation to the artist was Minister of Law and Justice Prem Bahadur Singh. Speaking high of Kumar, Minister Singh said, “Yash Kumar’s attempt to bring about a social transformation by making people aware about caste-based discrimination is certainly an appreciable effort.”

The singer has been in the field of music for 15 years and recently has also set his foot in the film industry through his acting debut in “Bato Muni Ko Phool”. He now feels he has accomplished something significant because of which his work has been appraised for the first time.
