Soldiers of Music
14 January 2011-Friday
-Supriya Pradhan

Music has always been a solemn expression for human endeavors…No matter how different the life we are living, music is that one thing which will never fail to unite us. And living the statement in reality are two men- Prashant Kerung and Milan Gomza Lama.

Both recruited in the same British Gurkha regiment in the UK, Kerung and Lama not only share similar experiences but also a common love for music. Lama had been involved in music since 1996 and had also released an album titled “Intake 99” back in 2004. Kerung, on the other hand, started his musical journey eight years ago and has recorded several solo songs. And now in 2011, the duo has teamed up for a collaborative album. They dropped their “Intake Beats” on 13th Jan, Wednesday.

A production of Gnext Entertainment, the nine-track set sees the singers incorporating all the current popular genres from hip hop to R&B to rock music. And the masterminds behind the tunes composed under the framework of these genres are Sanzib Rai, Rahul Pradhan, Gyanon, Cobweb and Raj Nembang. As for the providers of lyrics, the line-up consists of Deepak Gurung, Ganesh Bahadur Gurung, Raj Nembang and Kerung himself.

Although the types of music projected by the album may sound more contemporary and light enough for a younger audience, the messages hidden amongst the words of the songs have much more serious meanings. They are all dedicated to those British Gukha soldiers who have bravely fought and given their lives in the battlefield. It shows the cause behind the creation is more than just a mere interest.

Intake Beats is out in the market courtesy Music Mania.
